After spending 16 years studying music, why did I decide to take up painting at 33? The reason is that I had a pent up desire to paint for 30 years. I finally allowed myself to experience it first hand. This has become a magical time in my life.

From both musical studies and art studies - both self taught and with teachers - I have found that you will sharpen an understanding of the essence of art only through doing it yourself. This work on my own music and art has been hugely rewarding not only because I produce pieces but also my experience of other works of art and vision of the outside world have been greatly enhanced. This then is feedback into my own development.

I believe my pictures show many aspects about who I am. This is true for all artists, is unconscious and can not be controlled. It is not for me to say what those aspects are or what you might see or feel from my works. But I hope that my love of colors, forms, peoples' primary expressions- my sensual nature - comes through in my work.
